Prairie Chicks Scrapbook Challenge # 10- Jen's

For challenge #10 we are creating an altered item (ie: recipe box, canvas, picture frame or anything that you have sitting around to re-purpose). Use your imagination. One catch, you must use pattern paper somewhere on the altered item.

As usual you can play along by uploading your pictures to our facebook page or emailing us a photo to prairiechicks@sasktel.net .

I (Jen) altered an old mail sorter that I found at a thrift store.

Supplies used:
-spray primer
-white gesso
-Basic Grey paper, Cappella
-Prima Marketing, Birdcage metal embellishments by Inga Bolme
-Melissa Frances Resin pieces
-Graphic 45 Little Darlings paper (in the little frames)
-Prima roses
-paper leaves

First I primed the mail sorter with a grey primer, glued the Basic Grey paper behind the wood bars and on the outer side, then white washed the gesso over the whole piece to give a worn shabby chic look overlapping the pattern paper a bit to hide the edges. When everything was dry I hot glued the flowers, leaves, resin pieces and metal trinkets to the corners of each section of the sorter.
