Prairie Chicks Scrapbook Challenge # 9 - Amanda's

We have one last layout and card to show from our masculine page and card challenge, and that is Amanda's. We would also love to see how you create your masculine pages so once again you can upload your pages to our Facebook page or email us at prairiechicks@sasktel.net .

Here is Amanda's page and card. Paper is from My Little Yellow Bicycle- Saturdays. She also used the Kaisercraft Wood Flourish gears, leaving them natural on her page over our new burlap tags from Canvas Corp. For the card she used scraps from her stash and added some circles for a great  geometrical masculine look.

Prairie Chicks Scrapbook Challenge #9- Jen

Masculine pages and cards are the challenge this time. We would love to see how you create your masculine pages so once again you can upload your pages to our Facebook page or email us at prairiechicks@sasktel.net .

For this layout I (Jen) used an older discontinued line from Kaiser Craft from my stash for my background page and then added some scraps from MME's Miss Caroline collection. For the metal plate I used a Sizzix Embossing folder on mirror paper which I heat embossed copper embossing powder on parts to make it look worn and rusted. The gears (Kaiser Craft wood flourishes) I painted with a silver paint dabber, heat embossed copper embossing powder in spots and inked with black ink to give them a worn, rusted look as well.

The card I used leftover piece of mirror paper done with the same technique as the page and scraps from Miss Caroline and Cosmo Cricket paper. I stamped the image on cream cardstock , cut it with a Spellbinders die and distress-inked the image before I took it out of the die. I then matted the image with black cardstock with a slightly larger die.

Fabric!

Now that the weather has warmed up, it's hard to stay inside!  These new lines of fabric definitely make being inside easier though, easy eye candy for a quilter!

Prairie Chicks Scrapbook Challenge #9- Lilly's

Masculine pages and cards are the challenge this time. For some reason masculine pages are a challenge in itself as there are so many frilly, girly supplies out there and the girly pages are just so much easier. We would love to see how you create your masculine pages so once again you can upload your pages to our Facebook page or email us at prairiechicks@sasktel.net .

For her layout Lilly used Hooked on Fishing "Driftwood" paper and For the Record "Heirloom" paper by Paperloft and added buttons, ribbon, stamping and used the Binding Edge edger punch from EK Success. For her card she used the wood grain embossing folder from Darice and scraps from the layout to give the card a woodsy masculine look.
